Lambeth Cyclists run regular 'architecture' rides throughout the year which are an excellent means of finding out more about our local area and London more generally.

Our rides focus on particular aspects of the London environment (and occasionally we go out of London) whether the work of one particular architect or an aspect of the streetscape. The rides are easy going day long trips which are suitable for all.

Whether you've just started cycling, only cycle occasionally, or want to take part in a fun social event, all are very welcome to our rides or events listed below.

No need to register - just turn up! Please make sure your bike is in a road-worthy condition and you have lights.

2017 rides programme
Last year's Architecture Rides were rounded off in November with an absorbing tour of War Memorials, from the very obscure to the very grand, led by Marion Houghton.

Here are the rides we have arranged so far for 2017:
Sunday 26 March - Croydon, ancient, modern, in between.
Saturday 29 April – The history of London hotels through architecture.
Saturday 27 May - Medieval and Tudor south-west London
Saturday 8 July - EXTRA RIDE: Women's Festival of Cycling ride
Saturday 22 July - Walter Segal and Self-Build
August - second part of our exploration of Concrete in architecture, this time in south and east London.
September - more soon
October - Post-War Churches
November - Retro Retail

We are always on the look out for new ideas or new people to lead rides – we can help you plan routes and research background material. If you are interested in leading or contributing to a ride get in touch with Mark Knox (mpknox@care4free.net )
Photos of rides and events are now posted to our Facebook page.

Rides generally set off at 10:30am usually from a Lambeth or south London location - check the website, email group and twitter nearer the time for details of starting points, timings etc

Got an idea for a ride?
Have you got an idea for a ride? Want to get involved in planning and leading our rides?  We are always on the lookout for new ideas for rides and so would welcome your input – we can help you with routes, planning and leading. If you want to get involved get in contact.

We run regular ‘architecture’ rides –usually monthly- looking at the built environment or interesting features of the London landscape. The rides generally take place on the last weekend of the month starting mid–morning from a Lambeth or nearby location and lasting all day. If you have other ideas, maybe for shorter rides, longer distances, different starting points etc we are happy to incorporate them into the 2017 ride programme. If you are interested in suggesting rides please contact Mark Knox mpknox@care4free.net for more details.
