Get your bike security marked and registered at Clapham Common tube station SW4

Over the next few weeks the Metropolitan Police Cycle Task Force will be holding a series of events for cyclists to register and 'tag' their bikes so that if they are stolen and found they can be reunited with the owners.

The Police advise Registering your bike helps police and retailers identify and verify the legitimate owner of bikes that have been stolen or are being resold. Security marking your bike deters potential thieves as your bike can be easily traced if it is stolen.

Come along this evening 4-7pm to the stall outside Clapham Common tube station, SW4.

Other tagging events will take place in January and February at various locations around London:

Wandsworth enforce no cycling rule on Tooting Common

We are always looking at local issues that impact on our ability to encourage cycling in Lambeth.

Map of Tooting Common on Googlemaps
Recently we have become aware of the enforcement of no cycling across the north corner of Tooting Common on LCN route 5 which links Streatham with Clapham.

The short route across the Common is used by cyclists, including children going to and from the three local schools, but Wandsworth has now decided to enforce no cycling on the wide path linking the two Lambeth roads, with the alternative cycle route being along the dangerous Streatham High Road! We are in touch with Wandsworth and hope to promote shared use of the path.

Please let us know of any other local issues that could easily be resolved and would encourage safer cycling.
