Lambeth Cyclists contributes to local schools cycling project

At our January 2011 meeting Lambeth Cyclists agreed to donate £1,200 to Pedal Power Kennington, a recently established community project based in the Lilian Baylis Community Hub in Kennington.

It provides a range of cycling activities with a particular focus on 10 - 16 year olds in the local area, and also employs mechanics and cycle trainers. A few Lambeth Cyclists activists are involved with the project, not least Charlie Holland who is a key figure.

The donation we agreed makes up for a funding shortfall and will ensure a very worthwhile project is able to continue building on its work with the 125+ children that have already benefitted from the project. For more information see www.pedalpowerkennington.org.uk
