Vauxhall Slightly Less Cross??? Ken intervenes on cyclists' behalf

Ken Livingstone has intervened in the Vauxhall Cross redevelopment on behalf of cyclists.

Thanks to lobbying by Lambeth Cyclists and pressure from Lambeth GLA member Jenny Jones, LCC Director Peter Lewis was called to a meeting with the mayor at the end of July. There Transport for London were instructed to look again at Vauxhall Cross so that cyclists could continue to use South Lambeth Place.

TtL also promised to ensure that the traffic phasing was to benefit of cyclists and to monitor cyclists' usage of this important junction to assess the impact of the redevelopment. Vauxhall Cross has been chosen as Lambeth Cyclists' junction for the LCC Junctions Campaign. We will be monitoring the progress of the redevelopment to make sure that TtL stick to their word and make Vauxhall Cross cycle
